The Sensuous Super-Twin
State-of-the-art V-Twin performance technology, unleashed! The Suzuki TL1000S thoroughly redefines the pure, visceral appeal of large-displacement V-Twin machines.

The 90-degree V-Twin engine, delivering an exciting powerband, features an innovative cam drive system, sophisticated two-stage electronic fuel injection, digital engine management system and the power boosting SRAD induction system. The aluminum truss frame, using high-quality extruded, forged and cast components, is lightweight and exceptionally rigid.

The unique rotary damper rear suspension provides quick response, bringing you a smooth ride and excellent traction.

Distinctively styled and built with special attention to details, the TL1000S is a V-Twin lovers’ dream come true.

The 996cm3 90º V-Twin engine delivers a state-of-the-art sport ride through a host of innovations that maximize performance. A wide 98mm bore makes room for large valves, and a short 66mm stroke enables the engine to rev high.

Downdraft, straight-port cylinder heads till the cylinders more quickly, and together with a compact combustion chamber, produces a high 11.3:1 compression ratio for maximum efficiency.

Cast aluminum-alloy pistons have short skirts and cutaway sides to reduce weight and friction. L-shaped compression rings improve the seal, reduce blowby, and are lighter and more resistant to flutter at high rpms.

The aluminum cylinders are plated with the race-proven nickel-silicone-carbide coating called SCEM Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material to make them lighter and more durable and to transfer heat better.

An innovative cam drive system that combines a chain drive with a reduction gear below the cam drive gears reduces cylinder height and cuts frictional losses.

Suzuki Ram Air Direct SRAD induction boosts the intake pressure and rams more air fuel mixture into the cylinders, specially at high velocities.

An two stage electronic fuel injection system calculates the ideal fuel-to-air ratio based on various operating conditions. This improves tractability at low rpms while ensuring sharp response as engine speed and loads increase. The system automatically compensates for a range of situations.

The digitally mapped electronic ignition timing system automatically compensates for different coolant temperatures.

The clutch is designed with a set of ramped engagement cams that increases pressure on the clutch plates under acceleration and acts as back-torque limite for smoother downshifts when decelerating.

The innovative aluminum truss frame features oval upper truss tubes, oblong lower tubes and a U-shaped forged link section to make the frame compact, lightweight and rigid.

Suzuki’s revolutionary rotary damper rear suspension controls damping with a pair of vanes that twist back and forth in the aluminum damper body oil. This design reduces side loading and stiction and enables the suspension to react efficiently to the slightest wheel movement.

The remote rear suspension spring and the rotary damper each has its own linkage and leverage ratio.

The 43mm inverted front fork comes with externally adjustable spring preload and compression and rebound damping. It is held by lightweight aluminum triple clamps and steering stem. A steering damper is equipped.

Hollow-spoke, cast-aluminum wheels each carry high-performance radial tires. The front and rear axles and swingarm pivot shaft have large diameters and hollow centers to increase rigidity and lower weight.

The braking system features dual 320mm front discs that are floating-mounted on aluminum carriers and a single 220mm rear disc brake.

The all-electronic instrumentation can be read at a glance and includes a fuel-injection-system diagnostic function.

The sleek styling of the Suzuki TL1000S from the distinctive half-fairing and V-shaped windscreen to the flush-fitting dual headlights, prominent ram-air intake scoops and ergonomically sculpted fuel tank is the result of hours of wind tunnel testing.
