The Suzuki GSX-R 750 1986 received a 25 mm longer swing arm to help calm the handling. Apart from a modified belly pan and upgraded headlamps there is very little difference between the 1985 and 1986 models.

This is the first year the model was introduced to the USA. Trying to improve the bikes handling, the 1986 model received a 25mm longer swing arm and radial tyres like the limited edition version GSX-R750R model plus a modified lower fairing. The distinct dual headlights were upgraded to 65/50 watts.

Standard radial tires as the previous version of the Suzuki GSX-R 750 R Limited (Racing). Apart from that, the model remained basically unchanged since 1985 except for a modified lower fairing.

The street-legal limited edition (only 500 made) Suzuki GSX-R 750 R model was introduced for 1986. The basic specifications of the bike were the same as for the standard model (except for the seat height) but the the ”RR” model offered some improvement to an already great bike.

Differences between the Suzuki GSX-R 750 1986 and Suzuki GSX-R 750 R 1986 were: Gun-coat engine finish, gold-plated chain, blue-coated wheels and two sets of racing numbers. The Suzuki GSX-R 750 1986 offered a new electrically activated front suspension system (NEAS), 310 mm floating front brake discs, steering damper, racing type adjustable clutch-lever, dry clutch, single racing seat, remote rear damper reservoir, amber halogen head lights and more.
