Se destac\u00f3 con Honda en el Campeonato del Mundo de Motociclismo en la primera mitad de la d\u00e9cada de 1980.<br \/>\nResult\u00f3 campe\u00f3n de la categor\u00eda 500cc en 1983 y 1985, tercero en 1982 y cuarto en 1984, y campe\u00f3n en la categor\u00eda 250cc en 1985.
