Santa Pod alberga m\u00e1s de 50 eventos que incluyen: reuniones nacionales de carreras de autos, shows de autom\u00f3viles modificados, festivales de VW Beetle &#038; Camper, eventos de autos japoneses, eventos de autom\u00f3viles retro y cl\u00e1sicos, carreras de dragsters, etc.<br \/>\nUna carrera de Dragsters es un concurso de aceleraci\u00f3n entre dos veh\u00edculos en una distancia plana y recta de normalmente un cuarto de milla, o en algunos casos, una octava de milla. Ambos veh\u00edculos compiten desde un comienzo y el concurso se ejecuta despu\u00e9s de la calificaci\u00f3n en eliminaciones al estilo de torneo, el perdedor se elimina y el ganador progresa hasta que queda un s\u00f3lo piloto.<br \/>\nLa carrera se inicia por medio del \u00abChristmas Tree\u00bb (\u00c1rbol de Navidad), un sistema de sem\u00e1foro en el centro de la pista justo al salir de la l\u00ednea de inicio. Las ruedas delanteras de las motos de carreras se mueven hasta los haces de luz a trav\u00e9s de la l\u00ednea de inicio que detectan el veh\u00edculo, estos junto con los sensores de la l\u00ednea de meta, activan el tiempo individual y los relojes de velocidad para cada carril. Las luces del \u00abChristmas Tree\u00bb cuentan hacia abajo, \u00e1mbar luego cuatro d\u00e9cimas de segundo despu\u00e9s, verde. La carrera arranca y el primero que llegue a la l\u00ednea de llegada es el ganador, a menos que se muestre una luz roja en ese carril, es decir, el veh\u00edculo que se arranc\u00f3 antes de la luz verde y se descalifica autom\u00e1ticamente.<br \/>\nEste a\u00f1o hemos podido ver aut\u00e9nticas bestias en pista, donde suelen predominar las motos Suzuki GSX-R y especialmente las motos Hayabusa.
