Chip Yates <\/strong>es piloto oficial de la AMA norteamericana<\/strong> y desde hace muy poco est\u00e1 preparando motos electricas para la competici\u00f3n. En agosto de 2009 Chip Yates,<\/strong> ingeniero profesional en California, se rompi\u00f3 la pelvis en la pista en Topeka,<\/strong> Kansas. Obligado a pensar en vez de correr, decidi\u00f3 dejar los cilindros y pistones. Y se arroj\u00f3 sobre la \u00abenerg\u00eda limpia\u00bb.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Entre su nueva escuderia, el equipo Swigz.com Pro Racing<\/strong>, podemos encontrar una Suzuki GSX-R 750 2009 el\u00e9ctrica<\/strong>, que compite en el TTXGP North America 2010<\/strong> (Time Trial Xtreme Grand Prix). <\/em>El TTXGP <\/strong>est\u00e1 impulsando la pr\u00f3xima generaci\u00f3n de deportes del motor con emisiones cero en carreras, probando que lo limpio y sostenible puede ser divertido y potente.<\/p>\n

De la Suzuki GSX-R 750 2009<\/strong> no queda sino s\u00f3lo el chasis y la apariencia Gixxer, el resto es bateria y cables que le dan una potencia m\u00e1xima de 194 caballos, con el sistema KERS,<\/strong> que le permite recuperar algo de energ\u00eda durante el frenado.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sus modificaciones son las especificas para circuito, intentando en todo momento aligerar la moto de peso y hacerla un aut\u00e9ntico cohete que arras\u00f3 en la primera de las pruebas del TTXGP.<\/p>\n

En los siguientes dias de competici\u00f3n la moto se vi\u00f3 afectada por la bateria que fu\u00e9 importada de China. Al parecer las celdas de la bateria eran mucho m\u00e1s pesadas que las celdas apropiadas para este modelo, haciendo que la moto pesara mucho m\u00e1s de lo permitido en el reglamento del campeonato.<\/p>\n

Lamentablemente la nueva Suzuki GSX-R<\/strong> superbike de bateria no fue dise\u00f1ada para el mercado comercial, ya que tiene un alcance de apenas 25 millas exactamente, o justo para una carrera de motos el\u00e9ctricas.<\/p>\n
